DFRNT Leads buyer terms
Last updated: 6 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between DFRNT Group Pty Ltd ("we", "us") and the business that holds a DFRNT Leads account ("you"). Our ABN is 21 679 198 317 and our address is 109 Robertson Street, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006. These terms cover buying leads, Discounted Leads, referrals and consulting through DFRNT Leads at app.dfrntgroup.com. This version takes effect on 6 November 2026.
1. Accepting these terms
- You accept these terms when you create your account, or when the portal asks you to accept a new version. You do this by ticking the acceptance box, or by pressing Continue on a page that links to these terms. We record the version you accepted, the time and the person who accepted.
- The person who accepts must be authorised to bind the business. They confirm that they are.
- People you add as admins or billing users can bind your business, for example by funding campaigns, buying Discounted Leads or booking consulting. Only an admin can accept a new version of these terms.
- These terms replace any earlier Lead Generation Agreement you signed with us, for leads delivered after you accept them. Leads delivered before then stay under the agreement that applied when they were delivered.
- Managed advertising clients have a separate services agreement. These terms do not apply to that work.
2. Words we use
| Word | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Lead | An enquiry a consumer made through our ads, forms or wizards, asking to be contacted about a product or service. |
| Lead type | The kind of enquiry, such as solar or batteries. Each campaign buys one lead type. |
| Territory | The postcodes or drawn areas a campaign covers. |
| Campaign | Your settings for buying one lead type in a territory: coverage, weekly lead target, budget and funding. |
| Ad campaign | One of our advertising campaigns on Meta or another platform. It is not your campaign. |
| Ad set | Part of an ad campaign, set to run over the territories of one or more campaigns. Those territories are its area. |
| Credits | Money you have prepaid to a campaign. Lead costs are taken from it. |
| Fee per lead | The flat fee for each lead, shown in your account before you fund a campaign. |
| Media cost share | Your share of the advertising spend behind the leads you receive, worked out under section 5. |
| Held lead | A lead no buyer took when it came in. |
| Discounted Lead | A held lead offered for sale on the Discounted Leads page. |
| Portal | Your DFRNT Leads account at app.dfrntgroup.com. |
3. The service
- We run ads, landing pages and online forms under our own brands and collect enquiries from consumers. We match each lead to one buyer's campaign by lead type and location, and we sell it to that buyer for a fee.
- You choose the lead type, the postcodes or areas you cover and a weekly lead target for each campaign. If you do not set a target, we use 25 leads a week.
- A lead goes first to a campaign whose territory contains the consumer's address. If none does, it can go to the nearest campaign territory within 20 km.
- Where a lead is inside the territories of two or more businesses' campaigns, it goes to the campaign furthest behind its share. A campaign's share is its weekly lead target as a part of all those campaigns' targets, measured against the leads each took that day. A weekly lead target guides how leads are shared. It is not a promise of volume.
- We deliver each lead to your portal, and to your webhook if you set one up, once it is matched. We do not promise a delivery time. A campaign in an area our ads do not yet reach can take longer to start.
- Changes to the postcodes or areas of an active campaign take effect once we have reviewed them. Your current coverage stays live until then.
- Leads come from advertising platforms such as Meta, whose policies, prices and results we do not control. We do not promise any number of leads, any conversion rate or any sales result.
Who else gets a lead
- When we deliver a lead to you, no other buyer receives it from us, then or later, unless we delivered it to you by mistake. If so, we tell you, reverse its cost and you must delete it.
- A lead that no buyer takes becomes a held lead. This happens when no campaign of that lead type covers the area, or when the only nearby campaign cannot take it.
- Sometimes a lead comes from in or near your territory while your active campaign cannot take it. For example, the campaign has no credits, has reached its budget or has a failed payment, or your account is on billing hold. We then wait 24 hours and try to match the lead again. It goes to whichever campaign can take it then, which may not be yours. If no campaign can take it, it becomes a held lead.
- If your campaign is paused, a lead from your area is not kept for you. If no other campaign can take it, it becomes a held lead straight away.
- Held leads may later be sold as Discounted Leads at a lower price to any buyer whose lead types include the held lead's lead type, including a business that competes with you in your area. A held lead is never a lead that was delivered to you.
- We stop offering a held lead for sale once it is 40 days old.
- If the same person sends a new enquiry on another day, it is a new lead and may go to another buyer.
4. Your account
- Give us accurate, current details about your business, including a valid ABN and business address, before you buy leads.
- Keep your logins secure and tell us straight away if you think one has been misused.
- Everyone you add to your account can see the full details of every lead on it. Add only people who need them, and remove people who leave.
- Use the portal only for lawful purposes. Do not interfere with it, copy it or try to get into parts of it you are not given access to.
5. Pricing
- Fee per lead. Your business has one fee per lead, which applies to every campaign. It is set when your account is created and shown before you fund a campaign.
- Media cost share. Each day we share the spend of each of our ad sets equally across delivered leads, in this order. First, the delivered leads that the ad set's ad campaign produced, wherever they were sold, together with delivered leads in the ad set's area that we cannot trace to any ad campaign. If there are none, all delivered leads in the ad set's area. If there are still none, all delivered leads of that lead type that day, wherever they are. If no lead of that type was delivered that day, we carry the spend.
- Held leads and media cost. Held leads are not counted when the spend is shared, so the spend behind them is carried by the delivered leads.
- Settlement. The final cost of each day's leads is worked out once that day's ad spend is known, normally overnight. Until then a lead may show an estimated cost. A lead that was not priced on its own day may be priced in a later night's settlement.
- Corrections. If our ad platform corrects a day's spend, or we find a lead that was not charged or was charged under the wrong rule, we may correct that day's charges within 30 days after the invoice date. We use the method in this section and show every correction on your invoice and in your portal. A correction never applies a new price.
- GST. Your account records whether your fee per lead includes GST or has GST added. Media cost share is charged at cost with GST added, whichever way your fee is set. Your invoices show the GST.
- Offers. A promotional offer, such as free leads for a new account, applies on the terms and for the period shown with the offer when you sign up.
6. Credits and payment
- Campaigns are prepaid. You load credits to a campaign and the cost of each lead is taken from them.
- The first payment on a new campaign with no credits must be at least A$250. Later top-ups can be smaller.
- If you turn on auto recharge, we charge your saved card the top-up amount you set whenever the campaign's settled credits fall to your trigger amount, up to what its budget still allows. A campaign with no total budget needs auto recharge turned on.
- If you set a total budget, delivery stops once settled spend reaches it. Leads delivered on the day it stops are still settled, so the total can go over the budget by that day's leads.
- When a campaign ends, its final costs are settled that night. If they are more than its remaining credits, we charge the difference to your card. Unused credits stay on your account and you can move them to another campaign.
- Cards are held by Stripe. We do not hold card numbers. Keep a valid card on file while any campaign is active.
- If a charge fails, delivery pauses until a payment restores your credits. You still pay for leads already delivered.
- Any amount we invoice that is not paid from credits is due 7 days after the invoice date.
- If you think a charge is wrong, tell us within 30 days after the invoice date, so we can check it while the records are fresh. This does not limit your rights under the law.
Refunds of unused credits
We refund unused credits that you paid for, less any amounts you owe us, when:
- we end your account or a campaign without a breach by you, including when we stop serving your area
- you close your account before a change to these terms or prices takes effect (section 12)
- either of us ends these terms under section 14.4. We may first deduct the reasonable costs and losses your breach caused us.
- you close your account before we transfer these terms under section 16.4
- the law requires a refund
If you close your account for any other reason, your unused credits are not refunded. Referral credit and promotional credit, such as free leads, are not refunded. Refunds go back to the card that paid. Credits stay available to your campaigns while your account is open.
7. Bad leads and credits
- We supply leads on a cost-plus basis: you pay the fee per lead and your share of the media cost behind it. We do not guarantee any lead.
- A lead is not a bad lead just because the consumer does not answer, changes their mind, chooses another business, cannot afford the work or does not go ahead.
- At our discretion, we may credit the fee per lead, and any GST charged on it, back to the campaign's credits once that day is settled, for a lead that is clearly invalid. Examples are a wrong or disconnected number with no working email, a duplicate of a lead we delivered to you, or a consumer whose address is outside the area. To ask, email privacy@dfrntgroup.com with the lead's name or reference and the reason.
- We never credit the media cost share of a lead.
- If you disagree with our answer, you can raise it under section 15.
- If many of your leads in a period are bad, we will look at why with you and fix what is ours to fix.
8. Using lead data
Each lead is a consumer's personal information. If the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies to your business, you hold the lead under it as well as these terms. If it does not, these terms still apply in full. You must:
- Use a lead only to respond to the enquiry the consumer made. Do not use it for other products or marketing unless the consumer agrees.
- Contact the consumer within a reasonable time and treat them professionally.
- Not sell, give, share or rent a lead to anyone else, except your own staff and service providers who need it to respond to the enquiry.
- Keep lead data secure, with access only for people who need it. This includes any CRM, spreadsheet or other system you send leads to through your webhook. You are responsible for where those systems store the data, including overseas.
- Honour any opt-out, whether the consumer tells you or we pass it on, within 5 business days. If we tell you a consumer has asked to have their details deleted, delete them within 5 business days unless the law requires you to keep them. If we tell you a consumer's details have been corrected, update your copy within 5 business days.
- Follow the laws on calls, texts and emails. These include the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth) and the telemarketing industry standard that applies to your calls. Follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) where it applies to you. Where it does not, handle lead data as the Australian Privacy Principles require anyway. Follow any industry code for your trade. A consumer's enquiry asks to be contacted about that enquiry. It may not cover other products or contact long after it was made. You are responsible for having a lawful basis for each call, text and email you make. We keep a record of the wording the consumer was shown and when. We will tell you, for each lead, what the consumer agreed to and when, and show you the wording they saw if you ask.
- If a consumer asks where you got their details, tell them the truth. DFRNT Group Pty Ltd collected their enquiry through one of its websites and sold it to you. They can contact us at privacy@dfrntgroup.com.
- Delete or de-identify lead data once you no longer need it to deal with the enquiry or to keep records the law requires.
- Tell us at privacy@dfrntgroup.com within 24 hours of becoming aware that lead data you hold has been, or may have been, accessed, lost or disclosed without authority. Help us look into it.
- Hold the licences and registrations your work needs. You are responsible for the work you do for a consumer and for your own customer service.
- Use the Discounted Leads page only to decide what to buy. It shows the rough location, type and age of held leads. Do not use it to identify or contact anyone.
9. Discounted Leads
- Discounted Leads are held leads. They were not delivered to any buyer when they came in. You can buy only Discounted Leads of a lead type your account buys.
- Each Discounted Lead is sold once. The price falls with age, from A$15 a lead when it is a day old to A$3 at 40 days and older, plus GST. The price is shown before you buy.
- You can pay from campaign credits or by card. We deliver a pack by download and, if you choose, to a webhook.
- A Discounted Lead may be days or weeks old and may be from outside your territory. The consumer may already have spoken to other businesses.
- When the consumer sent their enquiry, a line of text under the form's submit button told them that, by sending it, they agree to be contacted about it, including by a business that buys it as a Discounted Lead, for 3 months from the day they sent it. Check what the consumer agreed to before you call, text or email them. Contact after that period is your own matter: you need the consumer's further agreement or another lawful basis, and you must check the Do Not Call Register. The same applies if they did not agree or have withdrawn.
- Section 7 applies to a Discounted Lead only for a wrong or disconnected number with no working email, or a duplicate of a lead you already hold. Any credit is the price you paid for that lead.
- Section 8 applies to every Discounted Lead you buy.
10. Referrals
- Your portal gives you a referral link. When a business signs up through it, you earn on each lead we charge that business a fee for, up to its first 1,000 such leads.
- You earn A$1.50 a lead in lead credit, added to one of your campaigns. Referral rewards are paid only as lead credit.
- If we credit a lead fee back to the business you referred, we may remove the earning on that lead.
- The business you refer gets no extra discount from the referral.
- Share your link only with businesses you know or that have agreed to hear from you. Do not send it in bulk or unsolicited emails or texts.
- Referral credit cannot be exchanged for cash.
11. Consulting
- You can book a paid consulting session of 60 minutes for A$500 plus GST, or a free 15-minute intro call. The price is shown before you pay. A package costs the price shown when you buy it.
- Cancel 24 hours or more before the start for a full refund to your card. Moving the time is free, but a session moved within 24 hours of its start becomes non-refundable. A session cancelled within 24 hours of its start is not refunded.
- A session in a package returns to the package if you cancel it 24 hours or more before the start.
- If we cancel or cannot hold a session, you choose a new time or a full refund.
- Consulting is advice on your marketing and sales. We do not promise any result from it.
- These cancellation rules do not limit your rights under section 13.
12. Changes to these terms
- We may change these terms or our prices, including the fee per lead and how media cost share is worked out. We will email the account owner at least 14 days before a change takes effect and show the new version in the portal.
- A change to our prices, or to how media cost share is worked out, applies only to leads delivered after the change takes effect.
- If you do not want to accept a change, you may close your account before it takes effect and we refund your unused credits under section 6.
- Before you start or keep running a campaign after a change, the portal may ask you to accept the new version.
- If you keep using the portal after a change takes effect, you accept it.
- If a change in the law needs us to act sooner, we will give as much notice as we can. This does not apply to price changes.
13. Liability
- Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees, that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where the law allows, our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
- Beyond those rights, the total liability of each of us to the other is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 3 months before the event that led to the claim. This limit covers all claims connected with these terms together. It does not apply to amounts you owe us for leads and services, to refunds and credits we owe you under sections 6, 7, 9 and 11, or to the indemnities, which have their own limit below.
- Subject to section 13.1, we are not liable for your sales results, including leads that do not convert, jobs you do not win, or profit you expected to make from leads.
- Subject to section 13.1, neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss.
- The limits in this section do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Indemnities
- You indemnify us against claims by third parties and reasonable costs caused by any of these: your breach of section 8, your unlawful contact with a consumer, or the work you do for a consumer. This is reduced to the extent we caused or contributed to the loss.
- We indemnify you against claims by third parties and reasonable costs caused by any of these: our collecting a lead unlawfully, a lead not having the consent our notice said the consumer gave, or a misleading statement in our ads or landing pages. This is reduced to the extent you caused or contributed to the loss.
- Whichever of us relies on an indemnity must tell the other promptly, take reasonable steps to limit the loss, and not settle a claim without the other's agreement.
- The liability of each of us under these indemnities is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
14. Suspension and ending
- You may pause or end any campaign at any time in the portal. There is no lock-in. You can close your account by emailing privacy@dfrntgroup.com. Leads from your area that arrive while your campaign is paused can be sold to other buyers as Discounted Leads.
- We may end your account or a campaign for any reason by giving you 14 days' notice by email.
- We may suspend delivery straight away if a payment fails, or if we reasonably believe lead data is being misused or a consumer is at risk. We will tell you why and restore delivery once the problem is fixed.
- Either of us may end these terms by notice if the other breaches them in a serious way and does not fix it within 7 days of being asked. We may end them straight away if you resell lead data, use it unlawfully or act fraudulently.
- When your account or a campaign ends, we settle the leads already delivered and refund unused credits under section 6. You can see your past leads in the portal for 30 days after closure. After that they are removed from your portal.
- Sections 6 (refunds), 8, 13, 15, 16.3 and any amounts owed continue after these terms end.
15. Disputes
- If there is a problem, tell us at privacy@dfrntgroup.com. We will try to resolve it with you within 14 days. If we cannot, either of us may suggest mediation.
- This does not stop either of us seeking urgent relief from a court, or using any right the law gives.
- Queensland law governs these terms. Either of us may bring a dispute in the courts of Queensland, or in any other Australian court that can hear it.
16. Other terms
- Privacy. We handle your account details, and those of the people on your account, under our Privacy Policy. It also explains how we collect leads and who we share them with.
- Our material. The portal, its software, our brands and our content belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy them or make products from them without our written agreement.
- Confidentiality. Each of us keeps the other's confidential information private and uses it only for these terms.
- Transfer. We may transfer these terms to a business that takes over DFRNT Leads, if it agrees to be bound by them and we tell you first. You may close your account under section 14 if you do not want to continue, and we refund your unused credits under section 6.
- Notices. We send notices to the account owner's email and show them in the portal. You send notices to privacy@dfrntgroup.com.
- If a term fails. If a court finds part of these terms cannot apply, the rest still applies.
